Multiplexer
4 Channel Multiplexer Card,
BA-6500-068
The Multiplexer card controls the connection between the handset pair and the particular shelf requested by the keypanel when a line is selected. The Multiplexer can control the connection to any one of up to four shelves according to the system configuration.
When the push-button for a line is pressed, the Telephone Interface Card (TIF) on the appropriate shelf is informed. The TIF requests the Multiplexer to select the handset pair for the appropriate shelf. The Multiplexer makes the connection and informs the TIF that the connection is satisfactory.
